You Don't Need More Job Leads

You need better ones

INSIDE THIS ISSUE:

  • This week’s hot & vetted remote roles

  • The real problem with your job search

  • Why volume isn't the answer

  • What actually moves you forward

Hi Freedom Seeker,

Most job search advice tells you the same thing: Apply to more jobs.

Apply to 50. Apply to 100. Volume is the answer. Cast a wide net. Eventually something sticks.

So you do it. You apply to tons of jobs. And you're still getting nowhere.

The problem isn't that you're not applying to enough. It's that you're applying to the wrong ones.

WHY MOST JOB SEEKERS ARE OVERWHELMED

You're not overwhelmed because there aren't enough jobs. You're overwhelmed because there are too many bad ones mixed in with the good ones.

You filter by "remote" and get 500 results. Now you're scrolling through garbage trying to find something real. Most of it is fake remote, poorly written, or companies that have no idea what they're doing.

The sheer volume is paralyzing. You spend hours looking and find nothing worth applying to. Or you apply to weak opportunities just to feel like you're doing something.

WHY HALF THE JOBS YOU FIND AREN'T WORTH APPLYING TO

Dead postings that went up weeks ago and nobody's checking. Generic descriptions so vague they could be any job. Salary ranges that don't match reality. Location restrictions hiding behind "remote."

Companies that are testing the market, not actually hiring. Roles that were filled internally but still posted. Jobs that sound good until you read the fine print.

You're wasting time filtering through noise when you could be applying to actual opportunities.

WHY FILTERING MATTERS MORE THAN VOLUME

Applying to 100 weak jobs gets you nowhere. Applying to 10 strong jobs gets you interviews.

A weak job is one you're not qualified for, don't actually want, or that company isn't seriously hiring for. You apply, waste an hour on customization, and never hear back.

A strong job is one you meet the requirements for, actually want, and the company is actively looking to fill right now.

The difference between spending your time wisely and spinning your wheels comes down to filtering. Which jobs are real opportunities and which ones are time-wasters?

Most job seekers never figure this out. They just apply to everything and hope.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

Here's the thing: You don't need a bigger list of jobs. You need a smarter list.

You need postings where you actually meet the requirements. Where the company is genuinely hiring. Where the description tells you something real about what you'd be doing.

You need someone who's looked at 500 postings and said "these 5 are actually worth your time" instead of just dumping all 500 on you.

That's why I vet opportunities for clients instead of sending them giant lists. A list of 100 jobs sounds helpful. A curated list of 5 real opportunities actually moves you forward.

One is lazy. The other actually works.
